Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is OTPXS
A:
OTPXS is a solution to provide secure access to protected resources. Although OTPXS, unlike using a Password, significantly increases security even when used on its own, the most secure way is to use it as part of a Two-factor Authentication solution, allowing an authenticating system to determine that you are who you say you are.

Q: What makes OTPXS better
A:
OTPXS does not require the use of any hardware devices to generate Passcodes that can then be used to obtain access to protected resources. This eliminates the problems caused in situations where the device is lost, stolen, forgotten or rendered inoperable through abuse or neglect.

Q: How is OTPXS implemented
A:
OTPXS can be implemented by licensed customers directly into their own authenticating systems. It can be customized in several ways to suit the customer's needs.

Q: How many users is OTPXS capable of handling
A:
Unlike the majority of solutions that use hardware devices, OTPXS has no limit on the number of users.

Q: How does OTPXS work
A:
When using OTPXS you use your Identification Means together with your PIN code and a Passcode you generate from the Access Key. In cases where Two-factor Authentication is not used in the OTPXS implementation, the Passcode you generate will be your Access Code.

Q: Where can OTPXS be used
A:
OTPXS can be implemented in any situation requiring strong authentication to obtain access to protected resources, including computer resources, such as websites, VPNs, remote or local computers, wireless devices etc. However, OTPXS can also be used in other applications, such as providing greater security for ATM machines and even for providing secure physical access, e.g. to buildings or secured sections of buildings.

Q: Is OTPXS expensive
A:
No, in fact it is the most affordable way of getting all the benefits that Two-factor Authentication has to offer, without having to buy the expensive back-end systems that come with solutions where users have to carry hardware devices to generate their Passcodes. It also virtually eliminates the increased help-desk activities generated by such hardware-based solutions.

Q: How much does it cost to implement the OTPXS solution
A:
Licensed users of the OTPXS solution pay a royalty fee per user, per year or a flat fee per year depending on the total number of users or the nature of the application.
